Description
1. Pollutant Removal
Calcium bentonite is a natural adsorbent for environmental remediation and water treatment. Its layered structure, large surface area, and cation exchange capacity help bind heavy metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides, dyes, suspended solids, and other pollutants. It can be used in powder or granular form to support water purification, soil remediation, and ecosystem protection.
2. Landfill Liner Systems
Calcium bentonite is used in landfill liner systems to form a dense, low-permeability barrier. When hydrated and compacted, it helps prevent leachate from entering soil and groundwater. It is suitable for municipal waste landfills, industrial waste sites, and environmental containment projects, offering stable anti-seepage performance.
3. Sewage Purification
In sewage treatment, calcium bentonite adsorbs heavy metals, suspended solids, colloids, oils, dyes, and organic pollutants. It also works as a flocculation aid, helping impurities settle faster and improving solid-liquid separation. Its non-toxic and eco-friendly nature makes it suitable for domestic and industrial wastewater treatment.
Adsorption Performance Optimization: High montmorillonite content (≥85%) for strong adsorption of heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Hg), organic pollutants, and suspended solids; controlled specific surface area (≥600 m²/g) and pore structure to enhance adsorption kinetics and capacity, ensuring efficient pollutant removal.
Physicochemical Property Control: Neutral to slightly alkaline pH (6.5–8.5) to avoid disrupting water ecosystem balance; fine particle size (200–400 mesh) for uniform dispersion in water, paired with stable hydration and swelling capacity to improve flocculation and sedimentation efficiency.
Safety & Compatibility Standards: Low heavy metal (As, Cr, Pb ≤0.005%) and impurity levels, meeting environmental discharge requirements; good compatibility with coagulants/flocculants (PAC, PAM); non-toxic, biodegradable, and non-secondary pollution, suitable for drinking water purification, wastewater treatment, and soil remediation.
