Description

1. Sealing / Waterproofing
Sodium bentonite is a natural waterproofing material with strong swelling capacity and low permeability. When hydrated, it forms a dense gel barrier that blocks water, chemicals, and gas. It is widely used for landfill liners, ponds, foundations, underground structures, and GCL systems. Its self-healing and eco-friendly properties support long-term sealing performance.

2. Basement & Tunnel
For basements and tunnels, sodium bentonite helps prevent groundwater and moisture intrusion. It can be applied as powder, membrane, or GCL, adapting to joints, cracks, and structural movement. Its swelling and self-sealing properties provide durable, low-maintenance waterproofing.

3. Soil Stabilization
Sodium bentonite improves weak, sandy, silty, or loose soils by reducing porosity, lowering permeability, and increasing cohesion. It helps stabilize foundations for buildings, roads, bridges, and infrastructure while reducing erosion, water infiltration, and uneven settlement.

Application Versatility & Durability: Compatible with powder, pellets, or geosynthetic clay liners (GCLs) for basements, tunnels, landfills, and foundations; self-heals minor cracks, adapts to structural movements, and maintains stability across pH 3–11 and temperature -20–60℃, ensuring long-term engineering reliability.

Swelling & Impermeability: Hydration-induced swelling (15–20x dry volume) forms a dense gel barrier with ultra-low permeability (≤1×10⁻⁹ cm/s), effectively blocking groundwater, chemicals, and gas intrusion for permanent waterproofing and sealing.

Soil Stabilization & Bearing Capacity: Enhances soil cohesion via cation exchange and particle aggregation, improving shear strength (≥25% increase) and reducing compressibility; minimizes erosion, uneven settlement, and water infiltration in weak soils (sandy, silty).

Sodium bentonite offers unparalleled advantages in civil and waterproofing engineering. Its exceptional hydration-swelling capacity (15–20x dry volume) forms an ultra-low permeability barrier (≤1×10⁻⁹ cm/s), ensuring reliable waterproofing and sealing. It enhances soil cohesion and bearing capacity, stabilizing weak soils to prevent settlement and erosion. With self-healing properties, it repairs minor cracks automatically, maintaining long-term durability. Eco-friendly, non-toxic, and compatible with diverse applications (tunnels, basements, landfills), it is easy to install and cost-effective, outperforming synthetic materials in sustainability and adaptability to harsh engineering conditions.
