bleaching clay for Vaseline
Product detail tabs
Description
The coarse petroleum jelly is heated and melted, and preheated to a specific temperature range of 100-130°C to reduce its viscosity and facilitate the dispersion of activated clay.
Under stirring conditions, a predetermined amount of activated clay is slowly added (the amount added depends on the quality of the coarse petroleum jelly and may range from 2% to 10%).
Under vacuum or inert gas protection (to prevent oxidation), stirring is continued for 30-60 minutes to ensure thorough mixing of the clay and petroleum jelly and completion of the adsorption process.
Plate and frame filter presses or leaf filters are typically used, sometimes requiring higher operating pressures and longer filtration cycles.
