Bleaching clay is used as a beer stabilizer.The porous structure of bleaching clay allows it to adsorb unstable proteins, polyphenols, and other compounds in beer that can cause turbidity. By removing these unstable components, bleaching clay helps maintain the clarity of beer even after long-term storage, preventing the formation of "cold turbidity.
