It is made from bentonite as the core raw material, treated with inorganic acids (such as sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid) for acid activation, followed by water washing, drying, crushing and other processes. It appears as milky white or off-white powder, odorless, tasteless and non-toxic, with a relative density ranging from 2.3 to 2.5. It is insoluble in water and various lubricating oils, but only soluble in hot caustic soda and hydrochloric acid. High temperatures above 300°C will make it lose crystal water and affect its performance.
